Vaginal tightening, vaginoplasty and hymenoplasty
Childbirth and age can leave the vagina feeling loose, with reduced sensation or mild leakage of urine. Some women seek treatment for comfort and confidence. These are elective, private choices, discussed in confidence, with realistic expectations.
Options
| Treatment | What it is | Recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Laser tightening | Laser energy stimulates collagen in the vaginal wall | Back to normal activities the same day |
| Vaginoplasty / perineorrhaphy | Surgical repair of the muscles and lining, often after childbirth | 4–6 weeks before intercourse |
| Hymenoplasty | Repair of the hymen | About 4–6 weeks |
Try this first
Pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises), done properly every day for three months, improve tone and mild urine leakage for many women. Vaginal dryness after menopause often improves with local oestrogen or moisturisers. A full examination rules out prolapse, which needs different treatment.
Honest limits
Laser treatments have limited long-term evidence, and results vary. Surgery is more definitive but carries the usual surgical risks. Dr. Brahma will tell you what is likely to help in your situation, and what is not.
Questions
Is the consultation confidential?
Yes, completely. You can come alone, and nothing is shared without your consent.
Can I have a normal delivery after vaginoplasty?
It is possible, but a further vaginal birth can undo the repair, so surgery is usually best after you have completed your family.
